Carys has a BA (Hons) degree in music from the University of East Anglia where she majored in performance, played as 1st Harpist in the UEA Symphony Orchestra and performed as a flautist in ensembles and as a solo performer. She has played at various venues across the UK including The Assembly Rooms Norwich; The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, Wymondham Music Festival and at numerous weddings and functions. She has performed live on Future Radio Norwich and whilst at the UEA was awarded the Norfolk Youth Musicians Trust Scholarship. She has been playing the flute for over 15 years and has a varied repertoire that covers all genres. Six years ago she fell in love with the harp and is very happy and privileged to play a beautiful Aoyama Vega Pedal Harp.
Her beautiful music will create the perfect atmosphere for your special day whatever the occasion.
Carys is also a member of a four part harmony singing group ‘Caelestis’. Caelestis are two pairs of sisters who have been singing together for several years, Rachael & Phillipa Levy and Carys & Freya Chaney. Specialising in close harmony religious/spiritual/pop/folk, ‘Caelestis’ have held sell out concerts, provided gentle singing for a local Artists preview evening and are in demand for weddings and civil ceremonies.
Carys is also available to give Flute lessons (beginners to Diploma level) and Piano lessons (beginners).
