Excerpt from North Norfolk News May07:
“Quartet were Just Heavenly”
‘Never were there such melodic sisters as the two sets who stood up and sang in sweet harmony during the launch of the first Happing Festival. The four girls aged from 15 to 18, gave an impromptu, a-cappella performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water and Panis Angelicus in St Mary’s Church, Stalham, illustrating Jim Stebbings’ comments about the wealth of talent in the area.
Freya and Carys Chaney and Phillipa and Rachael Levy were due to perform at a church concert in their home village of Happisburgh the next day to help raise money for breast cancer and the Coastal Concern Action Group.
The quartet call themselves Caelestis, which Latin scholars will know translates as ‘heavenly’- and so they were.’
‘Dear Carys,
Thank you for your help in making our wedding a wonderful occasion’

"I was invited to host a public performance by a group of young musicians. It was a delight to see a capacity audience who heard a performance that totally justified their eager anticipation. The music was breathtaking and so captivating you could have heard the proverbial pin drop. Carys Chaney and her sister, Freya, were remarkably professional in handling some sensitive music on harp and flute respectively. Their four part vocal group, Caelestis, sung some popular classics and more formal pieces with equal skill and superb clarity, sometimes unaccompanied."
"These are talented young people already with great capabilities, poise and confidence - the future looks extremely bright for them."

Artist & Owner ‘The Haywood Gallery’
“The open art studio that I have been running for several years at my gallery space in Happisburgh has built to become a highly successful event. It is held in my own gallery space at Barron Lodge Farm in some old converted agricultural buildings and has grown to feature 10 or more local artists every year including, of course, my own work. Yet, despite attracting preview attendances of around 1000, I felt something was missing. The daughter of a friend of ours, Carys Chaney, is very proficient on both harp and flute and she offered to bring her talents and the vocal group she leads, Caelestis, to provide some background music to the preview."
"This was a stunning success and immensely popular. Indeed at times it became more than background music as my friends and colleagues were mesmerised by the musicianship of these charming young people and their close harmony singing. I can highly recommend them.”
